Post 2 : Why did I choose my major?

Hi bloggers: When I was at school I used to dream about becoming a simultaneous interpreter at the United Nations in New York, since I 've always enjoyed learning foreign languages and, mainly because I was only 16 years old at that time. So my decision was crystal clear , I had to study Translation at Universidad Católica - the only place to study it  at that time. However, 3 months before taking the PSU test  , the career was closed. I was devastated because that was my only option. Finally , I decided to study  English Teaching and then move  to Translation internally. I was admitted , BUT, once inside I learnt that it was almost impossible to move to Translation. Then , after  getting depressed, a teacher helped me to understand that I had to go on with teaching, since a teacher can do both things: translating and teaching, whereas a translator can't work as a teacher. From then on, I started enjoying this career. I think I've been successful with it and can do both activities without any problems. What about you? What were your dream jobs when you were a child?     What a crazy destiny, teacher! Although there were obstacles in your way, in the end you were able to get where you wanted to go. It's nice to read that you didn't give up to fulfill your dreams.

Post 3 : Your favourite piece of technology

Hi everyone : Although my generation had to get used to technology and internet all of a sudden, I - personally , have become very dependant on it: I can't imagine planning a class without a computer and internet, for instance. The same happens when thinking about my free time: a smart tv and a smartphone have become indispensable objects that I use everyday during working days or holidays. Therefore, if I'm asked about my favourite piece of technology, I'd definitely say , my computer.
